The Beavers Visited Clarkston Fire Station on 11th October 2011 as part of their
Saftey Badge. There were 21 boys and girls there so were split into 2 groups. Our
group started with a tour of the Fire Station, where we saw the firemans pole (trying
to keep the beavers off it was fun), the direction cards, kitchen and where all the
uniforms were kept. All the beavers got a chance to try on a helmet and jacket a
few of which you can see below. We then swapped over with the other group and went
outside to see the fire engine. All the beavers got a chance to sit in the front
and back of the engine while the firemen explained what all the different equipment
was for, they got to see and hear the lights and sirens and then got a shot of the
hose. I must appologies for the quality of the photos at this point its amazing how
early it is getting dark now.
We would like to say a huge thank you to John for organising the trip, and for all
the firemen who took the time to show the Beavers round and of course to the Beavers
and parents for behaving.
